CMWare and Symbian Partner to Deliver New Digital Media Streaming Experience to the Mass Market

LONDON-- CMWare, Inc., a leading provider of PC place-shifting solutions for mobile carriers, today announced that it has joined the Symbian Platinum Program to support the growing market for Symbian OS™. As a Platinum Partner, CMWare is extending its newest application, myMobileMediaTM to the Symbian ecosystem.

myMobileMedia is a turn-key PC place-shifting solution for mobile carriers that reliably streams digital media from subscribers’ PCs to their mobile devices in any format, including music files, pictures, and DRM-protected content. Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the operating system that powers today’s most popular smartphones. Symbian OS is licensed by the world’s leading mobile phone manufacturers and to date, over 82 million Symbian smartphones have shipped to over 250 major mobile network operators worldwide.

Symbian smartphones are growing in popularity. During H1 2006, 24 million Symbian smartphones shipped, representing a 65% increase compared to H1 2005. According to leading market analyst firm, Gartner, over 200 million smartphones will be selling worldwide each year by 2008.

"This partnership reflects our dedication to the PC place-shifting technology market and our commitment to further enhance our mobile strategy," said Dale Skran, Co-Founder and VP of Engineering. "By becoming a Symbian Platinum Partner, we are expanding the market reach for myMobileMedia and strengthening our relationships with Symbian smartphone users, smartphone manufacturers and carriers.”

“Imagine the common scenario in which you are away from home or the office and you would like to use your mobile phone to gain instantaneous access securely to any data stored on your PC – that’s what CMWare’s myMobileMedia technology delivers,” said Jerry Panagrossi, vice president of US operations, Symbian. “We are delighted to partner with CMWare, as this partnership underscores our joint commitment to bring PC place-shifting technology to the growing Symbian ecosystem.”

CMWare will be demonstrating myMobileMedia for Symbian OS at the Symbian Smartphone Show in the Listen Lounge, 17-18 October 2006 at the ExCel Centre in London, U.K.
