of Forum Nokia S60 3rd Edition Challenge, global competition that unites developers
of innovative applications and services for Symbian S60.
The competition, sponsored by Forum Nokia and Adobe, was designed to distinguish
and reward advanced tendencies in mobile software developing. Entrants compete
in four categories: Enterprise Applications, Mobile Music Applications, Adobe
Flash Lite Applications and Location Aware Applications. The finalists were chosen
on the basis of each application’ usability and innovative technology solution
correlated with competition’s criteria. Final round of judging will take place
on October 17 at the Smartphone Show, London.
Handy Weather was among 5 applications that obtained the Finalist status at ‘Location
Aware Applications’ category. This utility by Epocware has already been widely
acknowledged by S60 community, hits the best selling lists of mobile software
shops such as Handango and has thousands of users throughout the world. Handy
Weather provides with complete 5-day forecast for any location on the Earth. Application
has database of 40000 cities embedded and provides true automatic data updates,
presents weather information with pleasant graphs and even adds Weather screen
saver.
