The Platform Promise: S60 Devices From Samsung - Java technology was heralded as write-once-run-everywhere - we know the reality was somewhat different. As the first Samsung S60 devices arrive in the SymbianOne offices Richard Bloor asks if the S60 platform serves Symbian C++ developers better. In this article Bloor tests the Samsung SGH-G810, SGH-I550, SGH-L870, and SGH-I8510 (INNOV8) S60 devices.

celCall launches mobile No More Voice Mail revolution Print E-mail
Written by celCall
Tuesday, 29 August 2006
In an effort to provide a quick and easy alternative to Voice Mail, celCall has launched CallMe VME – Voice Mail Eliminator application for Symbian phones.

- celCall launches the “No More Voice Mail” revolution to set mobile phone users free from the costly and time consuming hassle of leaving and retrieving Voice Mail messages.

- Are you aggravated every time you must leave a voice mail message just to have someone call you back? or have to retrieve a voice mail message just to find out who is looking for you? How much time and money do you spend every day on leaving and retrieving voice mail messages?

- Voice mail messages are a pain because they don't lend themselves to quick scanning the way SMS messages do - you can only listen to them one at a time, and you have to listen to the whole thing to get the sense of the message.

- No More Voice Mail !!! -

In an effort to provide a quick and easy alternative to Voice Mail, celCall has launched CallMe VME – Voice Mail Eliminator application for Symbian phones.

- Put an end to the expensive, time consuming hassle of Voice Mail. Any time a contact is unavailable, CallMe VME lets you notify them to call you back with just one click. And if your contacts use it, you will always know with our unique 100% Caller ID who is looking for you with just one click and return calls with another couple of clicks right from the CallMe message.

- How does it work? -
CallMe VME monitors your outgoing calls and lets you bypass Voice Mail by sending a CallMe message to your contact every time your call isn’t answered.
Unanswered calls include: No answer, Busy, Call Waiting, Voice Mail

Simply hang up the call any time, even if a voice mail system answers (within 5 seconds of hearing the greeting) and CallMe VME will prompt you to send a CallMe message.

- CallMe VME  vs. Voice Mail notification -
SMS messages from your Voice Mail system notify you only when someone has actually left a voice mail message. Even then, these messages are dependant on network CLID (Caller ID) which is unavailable for a large number of calls (private / blocked numbers, international calls). CallMe VME identifies the calling number for 100% of calls and even if the number isn’t in your contact list you can identify the caller by their signature.

- CallMe VME is currently available for Symbian S60 2nd Edition and Symbian UIQ 2 phones. S60 3rd Edition and UIQ 3 will be supported soon.
