Boston, MA, August 15, 2006 – Talking Street and Audissey Guides announced today
the launch of their new, first-of –its-kind cell phone tours in various cities
throughout the country. The tours entitled The Boston Audissey: Hidden Sites of
Beantown, The Chicago Audissey: An Insider’s Tour with Kevin Coval and The Seattle
Audissey: An Insider’s Tour with DJ Michele invite visitors and residents to experience
a totally alternative and user-friendly way to explore their favorite cities…and
it’s just a phone call away. The three tours, produced by Audissey Guides and
powered by Talking Street, are available beginning August 15, 2006.
Talking Street, the leading audio tour guide provider and pioneer of the “cell
phone walking tour” has teamed up with Audissey Guides to present Audissey Guides’
“Powered By” Talking Street tours, offering existing tours currently available
on MP3, on the new cell phone platform. The tours are available in different cities
throughout the country including Boston, Chicago, Seattle and with additional
tours set to launch in Miami Beach, New Orleans, and Hollywood.
“The cell phone tour is a unique and entertaining way for visitors and residents
to explore their favorite destination,” said David Solomont, Chairman & CEO
of Candide Media Works, Inc. “Teaming up with Audissey Guides seemed like the
perfect fit for offering visitors and residents a totally different and alternative
tour experience, setting us apart from your typical tour guide fare that is offered
these days.”
“This is really the democratization of tourism,” said Rob Pyles, 28-year old
Founder of Audissey Guides. “Your cell phone lets you become your own tour guide.
It’s a cool experience to walk around, dial the phone number, and hear all these
locals tell you about their hometown. Plus you don’t have to look like a tourist
– you can just blend in.”
THE BOSTON AUDISSEY: HIDDEN SITES OF BEANTOWN

THE SEATTLE AUDISSEY: AN INSIDER’S TOUR WITH DJ MICHELE

All three are guest narrators on The Seattle Audissey: an Insider’s Tour with
DJ Michele. The

of “The Jewel of the Northwest”.

of the popular radio show “Nite Life”. She gives travelers the inside scoop on
her hometown -- and she’s just a phone call away. The tour also features a colorful
cast of local guest narrators.
The tour starts in Pioneer Square, weaving in and out of buildings, bars, and
even basements. A ride on the bus is part of the journey, helping the listener
to mix with local people, before exploring Post Alley and, finally, Pike Place
Market -- one of the coolest places in America.
