This day-long event prior to CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment provides a unique forum, bringing together key industry experts and business development companies to help developers launch location services for both consumer and business applications.

Registration Now Open for September 11, 2006, Conference

CHICAGO, Aug. 15 -- NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, is presenting the NAVTEQ LBS Developer Conference on September 11, 2006. Openwave, a leading independent provider of software solutions for the communications and media industries, is collaborating with NAVTEQ as the Signature Sponsor of the conference.

The NAVTEQ Developer Conference will be held on Monday, September 11, 2006, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and will provide developers the opportunity to network, gain valuable insight on trends and opportunities, and get advice on developing location-based services in today's wireless world. Michael Powell, former FCC Chairman, will deliver the keynote address on the rise of digital technologies and the future impact on technology-driven businesses. -- Discover how leading carriers, Cingular, Sprint, Telus and Verizon Wireless, forecast the management and delivery of LBS to their customers;

-- Garner insights into the future trends of location-enhanced open APIs from Microsoft, Mapquest and others;

-- Gain access and insight into the companies that are providing the next generation of LBS tools, platforms and content for developers, including: Autodesk, deCarta, ESRI, KnowledgeWhere, Networks in Motion, Nokia and Openwave Systems.

NAVTEQ is also offering a Tech Lab, which will give attendees hands-on experience with NAVTEQ(R) map data and the latest developer tools designed to location-enable any application.

The conference agenda includes breakfast, lunch, and cocktail reception immediately following the day's closing remarks. Registration also includes a pass to CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment, keynote sessions and exhibitor hall preview and entrance.
