mycitymate is pursuing a new concept of city guide. The idea is simple. It is based on the fact that the ones who know a city best are locals. We give them free tools to keep track of their favourite places in their home cities and to share recommendations and secret tips with their friends. mycitymate then takes this information, and based on your personal profile, makes customised city guides for when you visit new cities. These are then provided online, and in downloadable form for iPods, S60 smartphones and other mobile phones.

mycitymate is a young start-up based in Barcelona, Spain. Our vision is to ‘mobilize urban communities’. We give our users the mobile tools to make more out of their urban life-styles. The first project is the creation of personalised city guides. We recently offered a special world cup guide to all 12 world cup cities. And we intend to offer more in the way of value-added features such as audio guides and more in the coming weeks. We will not stop here, though.
