A note from Nokia reps this week informs us that the Nokia viNe application will be rolled out of Beta soon... possibly even this week. viNe is a web service that enables users of the application to share their journeys, along with media collected along the way. As a long-time Sports Tracker user, N95 enthusiasts, and evangelist of all things mobile and geospatial, I was provided with a pre-release version of viNe - details and a complete "How To" install and use the application are provided... enjoy! It was back in June 2008 that the E71 was officially released to the public - the selling points for the E71 were a sleek, stylish do-it-all device that came with Mail for Exchange mobile email client - pre-loaded with the Nokia E71. Actually, the device boasted much much more than these attributes as you'll see below in my findings after having the pleasure of making the E71 my main device for 3 weeks... enjoy the recap, the images and the videos!
Cognima has released the S60 3rd Edition version of its ShoZu application, enabling effortlessly photo uploading from the latest Nokia smartphones.
In addition to providing support for the latest S60 3rd Edition devices, ShoZu has been updated to include support for:
MetaWeblog personal blog integrations - this allows advanced users to post to a much wider range of blog sites, including those built with web tools like Drupal.
FTP as a user-selectable destination, as requested by ShoZu users.
Users specifying the "From" address for each custom email destination (previously ShoZu used the email address registered with the user's ShoZu account). This makes email-based secondary destinations more flexible. For example, if I've registered different email addresses with Clicktoscan and ShoZu, I can still use ShoZu for email uploads to Clicktoscan.
Increased image size for ShoZu posts to personal blog sites (Blogger, WordPress, TypePad).
the option to define a list of several email addresses in a single destination (by entering multiple addresses separated by semi-colons). You could have one destination for Friends, one for Family, one for Work etc.
ShoZu for S60 3rd Edition devices is available free from www.shozu.com.
You can read our review of an earlier version of ShoZu here.
