With the number of speed cameras on British roads increasing all the time, Wayfinder,
the live mobile satellite navigation service is advising motorists to take caution
when driving.
Speed Camera sites, whether they are mobile or fixed camera locations are growing
year on year. Over 11, 000 speed camera locations, including fixed, mobile, free
standing, traffic light and temporary cameras sites can be located all over the
country.
“It is important to remind ourselves why speed cameras are in place as this can
be lost when penalty fines are mounting up”, comments Magnus Nilsson, CEO of Wayfinder.
“Speed cameras are there to act as a deterrent to speeding in areas where there
is a need to do so. There are some stretches of roads where there can be up to
three or four speed camera location sites and an unsuspecting motorist new to
the road may not necessarily be aware of the restrictions, can clock up to 9 penalty
points on their drivers licence and hundreds of pounds in fines”.
Wayfinder, the live mobile satellite navigation service that works on mobile
phones can help motorists identify where strict speeding regulations are in force.
Over 11, 000 speed camera locations, including fixed, mobile, free standing, traffic
light and temporary cameras are updated daily onto the live service with a guaranteed
99.9% accuracy of their location. The service is provided to Wayfinder from Cyclops,
an authorised supplier of this data who survey all camera sites to confirm their
accuracy.
“Wayfinder Driveline, available from Orange Shops nationwide, can provide motorists
with key information to help them become more aware of the speeding regulations
in force in a particular area, especially if they are driving through unfamilar
roads” concludes Nilsson. |
