A note from Nokia reps this week informs us that the Nokia viNe application will be rolled out of Beta soon... possibly even this week. viNe is a web service that enables users of the application to share their journeys, along with media collected along the way. As a long-time Sports Tracker user, N95 enthusiasts, and evangelist of all things mobile and geospatial, I was provided with a pre-release version of viNe - details and a complete "How To" install and use the application are provided... enjoy! It was back in June 2008 that the E71 was officially released to the public - the selling points for the E71 were a sleek, stylish do-it-all device that came with Mail for Exchange mobile email client - pre-loaded with the Nokia E71. Actually, the device boasted much much more than these attributes as you'll see below in my findings after having the pleasure of making the E71 my main device for 3 weeks... enjoy the recap, the images and the videos!
EMCC Software to Distribute RoadSync for Nokia S60 3rd Edition in EMEA Region

EMCC Software is delighted to announce the distribution and availability of DataViz’ RoadSync for S60 3rd Edition smartphones for its customers in the EMEA region. DataViz, a licensee of Microsoft’s Exchange ActiveSync, has incorporated this technology into RoadSync to provide full mobile access to corporate e-mail, calendar and contacts from Exchange Server 2003 for a variety of mobile platforms.
DataViz has now released a version of RoadSync that is compatible with new and upcoming Nokia E-Series and N-Series mobile devices.
“The combination of RoadSync with new N-Series and E-series handsets from Nokia is exciting,” says Rex Purnell, Sales Director at EMCC Software. “It means that simple and cost-effective push e-mail is available to Microsoft Exchange 2003 users on the most innovative and popular smartphones available today.”
Now Nokia’s E-series phones, designed for the business customer, can benefit from the most cost effective push-based connectivity to the enterprise server. Owners of Nokia’s N-series devices will also have access to this user-friendly solution providing a cost-effective and easy way to stay in touch with family and friends. RoadSync is easy to install and use, requires no middleware servers and has no recurring service or subscription fees. In addition, RoadSync also supports Direct Push technology, Remote Wipe security and Global Address List when installed in combination with the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2), enabling more businesses to deploy a wireless e-mail solution for their workforce at a fraction of the cost associated with today's alternatives.
RoadSync for S60 is a ‘Symbian Signed’ application and supports the following S60 3rd Edition devices from Nokia: E50, E60, E61, E70, 3250, N71, N73, N80, N91, N92 and N93.
Also recently announced is the plan for RoadSync to support devices based on Windows Mobile 2003 later in 2006, thereby extending the range of supported smartphones to include not just Symbian and Java-based devices but Windows Mobile-based devices as well.
“Our goal is for RoadSync to become the standard Exchange ActiveSync client across all mobile platforms,” said Michelle Carroll, International Channel Manager, DataViz, Inc. “By partnering with distributors like EMCC, we will be able to provide more business customers with access to our cost-effective, corporate push e-mail solution throughout the EMEA region."
