Alliance Members Discuss DVB-H, Showcase Live Mobile Broadcast Digital TV Demonstrations
at NAB2006
LAS VEGAS--April 24, 2006--Sony Ericsson has joined the Mobile DTV Alliance as
a contributor member, adding to the momentum for DVB-H development in North America
and aligning with other industry leaders in the wireless and entertainment markets.
This news, announced today at NAB2006 in Las Vegas, further rounds out the DVB-H
ecosystem that the Alliance is building to support its mission to drive acceleration
of DVB-H deployment in the North American market.

Mobile DTV Alliance at NAB
Promoter members of the Mobile DTV Alliance will address the complete solution
for DVB-H at a press conference hosted by the DVB Project on Monday, April 24th
at 11 am in Room N242 of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Later that day, there
will also be a panel discussion broadcast on the NAB-HD TV channel at 2 pm. The

Experience Live Mobile Broadcast TV in Las Vegas
Mobile DTV Alliance members will demonstrate multiple DVB-H based demonstrations
at NAB (April 24-27), allowing visitors to experience live mobile TV at their
fingertips. Visitors to the Alliance's booth (#SL2607P) can interact with handsets
from several different member companies, and will get to experience live mobile
TV at their fingertips.
Other public demonstrations include:
-- Axcera - Booth #C8519 - Axcera will provide DVB-H signal coverage through
the conference hall using a complete DVB-H base station solution based upon Axcera's
Innovator LX solid-state lower DVB transmitter. Visitors can view multiple real-time
video streams using the latest mobile handsets.
-- Microsoft - Booth #SL1161 - Discover how Microsoft is helping partners and
service providers deliver mobile DTV DVB-H solutions by utilizing the Windows
Media platform.
-- Modeo - Multiple booths - Modeo will feature a live broadcast demo on its
sleek new DVB-H integrated smartphone in the Mobile DTV Alliance booth, as well
as support live demonstrations on a variety of mobile development platforms in
a partner booths.
-- Motorola - Booth #SU1752 - Motorola showcases end-to-end mobile television
solutions supported by DVB-H technology. Visitors can check out a live broadcast
demonstration on Motorola DVB-H enabled trial handsets featuring 2.4" QVGA touch-screen,
H.264 video and PDA functionality.
-- Nokia - Booths #SL2407A - "Watch new" as Nokia brings mobile digital television
to life with demonstrations of DVB-H solutions featuring the Nokia N92, the first
integrated DVB-H mobile device in the Nokia N series range - uniquely optimized
for the mobile digital TV experience.
-- Penthera Technologies - Multiple booths - Penthera will demonstrate its end-to-end
mobile broadcast solution by powering Modeo's DVB-H broadcast and by showing DVB-H
client reception and interactivity applications including eCommerce, tele-voting
and data acquisition in the Microsoft booth.
-- RRD - Booth #C10131 - RRD will demonstrate its DVB-H mobile TV solution (DVB-H
gap filler) with live reception of DVB-H services.
-- Terayon - Private Suite (Hilton) - Terayon will demonstrate its Network CherryPicker
family of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4/AVC processing platforms that enable service providers
to deliver standard and high definition digital video services and applications
in DVB-H environments.
-- Texas Instruments - Booth #SL2607F - Experience how mobile DTV on the go will
fit into your life with TI's Hollywood(TM) single-chip solution, delivering a
live mobile DTV experience at NAB with crisp video and surround audio for mobile
phones.
