pictavision(R) Now Supports World of Online Photography Print E-mail
Written by dotPhoto, Inc
Tuesday, 21 March 2006

WEST TRENTON, N.J.--March 21, 2006-- dotPhoto's new version of pictavision lets camera phone users shoot   and upload pictures instantly to Webshots, the world's most popular photo sharing site, and browse the site's galleries, albums, and blogs on the go

Today dotPhoto, a leading provider of photo, video, and multimedia applications, content, and services for wireless users, announced pictavision for Webshots, a new version based on the award-winning pictavision(R) wireless application currently deployed on over 20 wireless carriers worldwide.

Webshots.com, with 19.5 million monthly visitors*, and over 350 million photos to explore, is a visually engaging and trusted place to take a break, share and explore, and connect with others. pictavision for Webshots makes it quick and easy for camera phone users worldwide to shoot photos; upload them to Webshots; and view Webshots' galleries, albums, blogs, screensavers, wallpapers, and other photo offerings--all from their mobile phones.

dotPhoto customized its award-winning pictavision photo application for camera phones specifically for Webshots. The pictavision for Webshots application will be launched on over 20 mobile carriers worldwide beginning in April, and will be available on BREW(R) and Java(TM) camera phones.

pictavision for Webshots lets camera phone users:

-- Easily take photos. pictavision for Webshots provides simple camera controls that turn any camera phone into a powerful digital camera.

-- Instantly upload photos to Webshots. pictavision for Webshots lets users quickly upload camera phone pictures alone or in batches to www.webshots.com, where they can be stored, shared, posted on blogs, or processed into traditional prints and other merchandise.

-- Browse Webshots On The Go. pictavision for Webshots also lets consumers view Webshots' photo albums, galleries, blogs, and other online content from their camera phone.

"pictavision for Webshots unlocks the full potential of camera phones with the ease-of-use consumers have been demanding, coupled with access to the world's largest collection of online photos, and broadest selection of photo services," says Jiren N. Parikh, Vice President and GM of Wireless for dotPhoto. "We're thrilled to help Webshots bring their pioneering photo content to wireless, and revolutionize how people use their camera phones."

Amy McDonough, Director of Services for Webshots agrees: "Thanks to dotPhoto, pictavision for Webshots gives wireless users the access to our online content and services," she says. "Camera phones are at the forefront of wireless and Web convergence, and we're looking forward to leveraging this convergence with the opportunities a cross-platform application like pictavision for Webshots can provide our users."
