Part 2 from the 2003 Forum Nokia Media & Music Market... Paris, France - more than 2 dozen Symbian developers showed off some exciting and compelling new applications to carrier representatives and industry executives. (By Glenn Letham, Nov. 24, 2003) (A SymbianOne.com Feature) Last week in Paris, France more than 2 dozen Symbian developers, along with Nokia [forum.nokia] showed off some exciting and compelling new applications to carrier representatives and industry executives. Compelling, feature-rich applications that enhance the mobile user's experience and stimulate revenue generating opportunities for developers, device manufacturers, and operators. In a nutshell, that's what we saw on November 20, 2003 as more than 2 dozen application developers and mobile service providers took to the floor to show off some exciting, new music, media, and multi-media applications.

Designed to entertain and generate increased ARPU, we saw mobile karoake, picture 2 postcard, puzzles, video, games, location services, and much more. Most applications have been given a shot in the arm by the capabilities offered to users of Symbian OS devices and this special presentation served as a preview or window of opportunity as to what we can expect to see in the months to come.

Kudos to Nokia and the developers who took advantage of this networking opportunity to make their pitch. An obvious benefit for developers who are members of Forum.nokia is that a select few get opportunities like this where they can sell their applications in one place to a room full of representatives from leading carriers desperately searching for their next killer app!

Read on as we provide descriptions of the numerous applications that were showcased at the 2003 Forum Nokia Media and Music Market as "60 second developer pitches".
