JumpTap Unveils New Search Industry Whitepaper: Why Not Google? Print E-mail

Report Discusses the Increasing Need for Carrier-branded Mobile Search Solutions as the Future of Search Turns to Cell Phones

With search, the information-based economy has finally come of age. Perhaps more than any recent technological innovation, search engines have reshaped the way people interact with the world. By extracting information out of repositories of all kinds search has the potential to commoditize expertise, disrupt markets and reshape the world economy.

Nonetheless the future of search may not lie with the Internet. The average American spends a minimum of seven hours per month using his or her cell phones, compared to five minutes a day spent using web-based search engines. As more content is created for mobile phones, networks gain broadband speed, and users continue to see their phones as information access devices, mobile search is positioned to be the next significant value creation opportunity for mobile operators around the world.

WHO: JumpTap, Inc., a pioneer in the development of innovative, carrier-centric mobile search technology announced the availability of a newly developed white paper entitled, “Why Not Google: The Argument for Carrier-branded Mobile Search”.

WHAT: This new industry report makes the argument that carriers face substantial financial risk if they allow major Internet providers, such as Google or Yahoo, to access the device deck, the subscriber base, and mobile search advertising revenue.

NOTE: JumpTap is exhibiting at the 3GSM World Congress conference (Hall 2, Level 1, Booth # J073-J074) from 13-16 February in Barcelona, Spain. Copies of JumpTap’s new industry whitepaper are available exclusively to members of the media and to the industry analyst community. To obtain a complimentary copy of this report and to schedule an interview with JumpTap either by phone or at the 3GSM World Congress conference, please contact: jumptap.com
