NEW YORK -- Gameloft, a leading developer and publisher of games for mobile
phones, took IGN's Best of 2005 Awards by storm with five wins.
The company took home one of the most prestigious awards, Best Developer of the
Year.
Gameloft also won top honors in the following categories:
Best Fighting Game: Medieval Combat, Age of Glory - "Gameloft has found a compelling
way to use the limited nature of handset controls to make this streamlined fighter
still feel rich and deep… the game looks and sounds fantastic." - IGN
Best Racing/Driving Game: Asphalt 2: Urban GT - "Gameloft does not tread in categories
lightly, and that includes racing. The game looks great, with good car models
and nicely drawn backdrops, and the 3D-esque perspective gives the game a real
sense of speed." - IGN
Best Sports Game: Derek Jeter Pro Baseball 2005 - "The visuals in this 3D edition
are outrageous, with models seemingly made up of more polys than some PSone games.
And the sound really captures the feeling of sitting in a packed stadium. Another
top notch effort from Gameloft." - IGN
Best Graphics Technology: Massive Snowboarding - "Gameloft's Massive Snowboarding
is easily the slickest of the 3D games this year, boasting impressive tech that
catapults the game into early PSone quality." - IGN
"We are thrilled with all the prestigious accolades; our hard work and dedication
to producing innovative and high quality games have truly paid off," said Michel
Guillemot, CEO, Gameloft. "We are deeply honored by this acknowledgement from
our colleagues in the industry and are committed to continuing the same trademark
quality games for 2006."
Gameloft was also runner-up for Best Action Game with King Kong The Official
Mobile Game of the Movie, Best Sports Game for Massive Snowboarding and Best Graphics
Technology for King Kong the Official Mobile Game of the Movie.
