A note from Nokia reps this week informs us that the Nokia viNe application will be rolled out of Beta soon... possibly even this week. viNe is a web service that enables users of the application to share their journeys, along with media collected along the way. As a long-time Sports Tracker user, N95 enthusiasts, and evangelist of all things mobile and geospatial, I was provided with a pre-release version of viNe - details and a complete "How To" install and use the application are provided... enjoy! Enter Nokia viNe 101
It was back in June 2008 that the E71 was officially released to the public - the selling points for the E71 were a sleek, stylish do-it-all device that came with Mail for Exchange mobile email client - pre-loaded with the Nokia E71. Actually, the device boasted much much more than these attributes as you'll see below in my findings after having the pleasure of making the E71 my main device for 3 weeks... enjoy the recap, the images and the videos!
Tibia Micro Edition – The first online role-playing game for mobile phones now available world-wide

Following the ever-increasing popularity of MMORPGs, players can finally chat,
fight and solve quests on their mobile phones! Symbian Series 60 devices supported.
Regensburg. Oct 20, 2005 -- Now available world wide: The German developer CipSoft
has recently published the first-ever massive multiplayer online role-playing
game for mobile phones. Owners of Series60/Symbian phones from all over the world
can now download free demo versions at www.tibiame.com or at the wap-site wap.tibiame.com.
In TibiaME, hundreds of users can chat and interact with each other in real-time.
Players will fight many different creatures and do challenging missions, many
of which can only be solved by teams. Just like with established MMORPGs, players
can improve their game characters' attributes and equipment. The game world is
huge, offering a wide range of different areas. It is even possible to travel
to other continents by ship!
The handling of the game is simple and intuitive, and unlike many other MMORPGs,
players do not need to read a complex manual before setting out. Currently, the
full spectrum of series 60/Symbian mobile phones is supported. A Java version
will follow shortly.
Unlike with most other MMORPGs, no fixed fee is charged for playing TibiaME at
the moment. All that players need to pay for is the one-time fee to download the
"Gold" version as well as any traffic fees charged by the respective mobile network
operators to connect to the game server.
As with regular well-known MMORPGs played on personal computers, the TibiaME
game program (“client“) connects to a central server which processes all player
actions as well as the assignment of „quests", i.e. missions. Information is simultaneously
sent to all clients to make sure players can see each other and interact in real-time.
The response times, which are often quite long on mobile phone networks, are significantly
reduced by employing a special method, thus allowing fluent, lag-free gameplay.
Data traffic between the phone and the game server is reduced to a minimum in
order to keep traffic costs as low as possible.
The “Gold“ version is available at Handango.com, Clickgamer.com and other selected
international download portals. In addition to the features of the free version,
the Gold version offers many additional attractive features such as an automatically
drawn map, a list of players currently online, and a high score table. CipSoft
is still looking for further international distributors for the gold version.
The German developer CipSoft GmbH has specialised in Massive Multiplayer Online
role-playing Games (MMORPGs). Apart from TibiaME, they are running the highly
successful MMORPG “Tibia” (www.tibia.com)
