... CREATING THE FIRST CROSS-PLATFORM SOLUTION FOR MOBILE NAVIGATION
Polarisä for Symbian phones to debut at The Smartphone Show
London, UK – 10 October 2005 – Telmap (www.telmap.com), a world-leading provider of mobile Mapping and Navigation solutions, today
announced the launch of a native Symbian version of its Polarisä solution. As
the Polaris Mapping and Navigation System already supports all the other major
mobile platforms and works on all networks, the addition of a Symbian native version
establishes Polaris as the first and only truly worldwide, cross-platform solution
for mobile navigation. Telmap will demonstrate the new Polaris native Symbian
solution on the Nokia 6680 mobile handset at the upcoming Symbian Smartphone Show
at the Excel Centre, London, October 11-12 (stand #42).
The full Polaris solution, for Java and Symbian devices, will also be presented
at the Telmap stand, enabling Telmap to showcase its unrivaled support for premium
content, such as real-time, Europe-wide traffic and weather. "The addition of
native Symbian support is an important element in our strategy of offering the
most complete mobile navigation solution available," said Oren Nissim, CEO of
Telmap. "Now, operators, handset manufacturers and application developers can
offer a single solution for worldwide navigation and content to an unprecedented
broad market. This reinforces Telmap’s position as the industry leader and shaper
of the future of mobile navigation." Telmap will share its extensive knowledge
in a seminar at The Smartphone
Show: "Mobile Navigation Solutions – Five Challenges Met When Developing Telco
Grade Solutions" (October 12, 11:30am), presented by Oren Nissim, CEO.
