TRY NOW AVAILABLE ON SERIES 60 3RD EDITION Print E-mail
Written by Mobile Innovation
Tuesday, 11 October 2005
tryMobile Innovation, the leading user interface (UI) designer, developer, and integrator for mobile devices, has today announced the availability of TRY for Series 60 3rd Edition.

Automated testing tool now available on the latest version of world's leading smartphone platform

London, England - October 11 2005:   TRY is a dynamic and highly customisable script-based software test tool that enables device manufacturers and software developers to accelerate testing processes whilst improving the quality of their output.  TRY is the mobile industry's leading dedicated Symbian OSTM dynamic test tool.

Series 60 Platform 3rd Edition is a new generation of the world's leading smartphone software platform, adding a host of fresh features while retaining all those from the 2nd edition. The new Series 60 Platform 3rd Edition focuses on enhanced multimedia and enterprise functionality, sustainable application business support, state-of-the-art customisation enablers and improved platform architecture.

"As the Series 60 platform enters the high volume consumer market we are likely to see increasing demand for diverse and cost-sensitive devices and products," said Matt Millar, CTO, Mobile Innovation.  "To remain in front of the competition, companies must ensure their products are launched as quickly as possible, but this often means not enough time is given to properly testing the product.  Dynamic test tools such as TRY are now indispensable for reducing time to market and improving the quality of software products. And by supporting Series 60 Platform 3rd Edition, Mobile Innovation reaffirms its commitment to the success of the Symbian ecosystem."

TRY support for Series 60 Platform 3rd Edition is a result of continual product development and liaison with the TRY user base.

The benefits of TRY include:

· Cost savings
Shorter and more efficient test cycles.

· Quality improvement
More defects found earlier in the product lifecycle.

· Quicker time to market
Shorter development cycles yielding time-to-market reductions.

· Advanced functionality
Discovers defects that may not be noticed by other test methods.

TRY is available to licence in a number of versions, ranging from basic product offerings to full access to source and support. TRY is currently optimised for use on UIQ and Nokia's Series 60, 80 and 90 platforms. Evaluation versions and sample scripts can be downloaded from http://www.mobileinnovation.co.uk/developer_tools/
