SMS.AC And Wireless Wonk Survey Probes TV Services Coming To Mobile Phones Print E-mail
Written by SMS.ac
Thursday, 31 March 2005

As mobile phones continue their metamorphosis into everything-in-one wireless devices, how will consumers respond to TV services, as they become available?

SAN DIEGO and Washington, D.C.- March 31, 2005 - This week, SMS.ac, Inc. (www.sms.ac/corporate) partnered with ForceNine Consulting and The Wireless Wonk to probe that question, utilizing the largest community of mobile phone users in the world as a test group (www.sms.ac).

“In our most recent research collaboration, SMS.ac worked with us to investigate consumer sentiments related to viewing television services on mobile handsets,” said Andrew Roscoe, a partner with ForceNine Consulting who is also known as “The Wireless Wonk” within mobile industry circles.

“The results of that research will be released during this Friday’s segment of The Wireless Wonk webcast (www.wirelesswonk.net),” added Roscoe. “The findings are interesting and clearly demonstrate what people want to view via TV-enabled mobile phones, along with their degree of price sensitivity to these services. The ongoing relationship between The Wireless Wonk and SMS.ac enables our two companies to jointly conduct market research on attitudes and behaviors of tens-of-thousands of wireless consumers around the world.”

Throughout 2005, SMS.ac (www.sms.ac) provides ForceNine Consulting with research statistics garnered from surveys of its global mobile audience. That research, which focuses largely on the consumer behavior and preferences of mobile phone users around the globe, is featured in periodic Wireless Wonk shows. To view past Wireless Wonk webcasts that feature interviews with SMS.ac executive Greg Wilfahrt, click on the 05/3/13 or 05/10/29 Wireless wonk segments at http://www.forcenine.net/ww/archives.html.

“ForceNine Consulting and The Wireless Wonk consistently provide insightful analysis of trends, breaking news and statistics relating to the mobile industry,” said Greg Wilfahrt, executive vice president of SMS.ac. “Tune-in to The Wireless Wonk webcast this Friday and see what all the buzz is about.”
