Selection Based on ACCESS’ Rich i-mode Experience and Extensive Global Resources
Cannes, France – 3GSM World Congress – February 16, 2005 – ACCESS Co., Ltd.,
(Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a global provider of mobile content delivery and
Internet access technologies, announced that its NetFront® i-mode™ Global Profile
integrated software solution has been selected by Motorola for deployment in its
E378i handset. This innovative handset will initially be offered by leading Spanish
mobile operator Telefónica Móviles, with additional carrier deployments to follow.
NetFront i-mode Global Profile integrates ACCESS Internet software technologies
previously deployed for NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode service into a comprehensive solution
that offers operators and their handset partners seamless i-mode Global deployments
while reducing overall cost and time-to-market. All technologies comprising NetFront
i-mode Global Profile were developed by ACCESS with NTT DoCoMo ensuring seamless
interoperability optimized specifically for the i-mode Global service and they
have been proven in over 43 million deployments of i-mode handsets in Japan and
over 3.5 million i-mode Global handset deployments throughout the world.
