Babel, the games services company, announces that it has expanded its Brighton
based facility with the addition of an in-house porting team
The full scale team of developers, project management and QA resources integrates
with Babel’s localization and certification teams to deliver a true one stop service
for preparation of mobile content for international markets. The move dramatically
increases Babel’s porting capacity and feeds directly into the company’s international
certification programs for Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange and other Java Verified
operator programs.
“A true international launch requires applications to be ported to over 100
handsets in at least eight languages to multiple operators. Delivering all of
these thousands of SKUs is not necessarily a good use of a development teams’
time or creativity” said Algy Williams, Managing Director of Babel, “This is our
area of specialisation, and the combination of localisation, porting and certification
means that content providers can ramp up their number of titles without taking
a hit in fixed costs”
