Series 60 Challenge Finalists Announced

The Series 60 Challenge, sponsored by Nokia, Sendo, Siemens and Symbian, generated
138 registrations in total from all over the world. Finalists have been announced
with winners to be selected and announced next month at Series 60 Gala to be held
in Nice
The Series 60 Challenge team, with the support of a team of experts, spent the
first two weeks of January testing and analyzing the submissions. On Thursday,
January 13, 2005, the Series 60 Challenge Jury selected the finalists.
The Series 60 Challenge team would like to thank everyone who took part in the
competition. The majority of the submitted entries were innovative concepts and
professionally done. It was an exciting and rewarding time to review the entries.
Here are the finalists in the Series 60 Challenge. Finalists are listed in alphabetical
order by company name in each category.

China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC)
Map@Handset: The Map@Handset Mobile Map uses a pre-installed electronic map client with which users can search
business and location information. Users can define their own interest points
and send the interest points' map information through MMS to their colleagues
and friends.
Telecom Italia - Turbo Call: TurboCall is a service for audio/video interpersonal
communication that allows two people to talk together and to share a video, captured
through the phone's camera, of any of the two parties, at any moment during the
voice call. The video is sent in real-time from one party to the other. T-Mobile

News Express: News Express is a pushed magazine delivered twice per day to the
phone. Content is viewed offline and is enabled through the Macromedia flash-lite
graphics engine.

interests. Just enter a personal profile into the mobile device and wait to someone
who shares your interests to come nearby. MobiLuck detects all Bluetooth devices
and makes sure that your phone rings or vibrates to alert you when someone with
same interests is nearby.
Congratulations to each finalist! The next big day is February 12, 2005, when
the winners of the Series 60 Challenge will be announced at a Series 60 Gala in
Nice.
