The updates were designed to leverage the technical capabilities of the latest Palm OS, Windows Mobile and Symbian OS-based PDA and smartphone models.

 The Palm OS updates take advantage of the latest hardware enhancements found in PalmOne’s PDA and Smartphone devices, including support for:

High-resolution displays on the Tungsten T5 (320x480) and Treo 650 (320x320);
Flash memory file storage on the Tungsten T5 and Treo 650;
5-way navigation on the Tungsten T5 and Treo 650;
Built-in camera on the Treo 650 (as well as the Treo 600, Zire72 and many Sony Clie models).

The Windows Mobile updates are designed to support the latest Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition PDAs and Smartphones, including:

High-resolution 640x480 displays found in Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PC devices, including the Dell Axim X50v and HP IPAQ hx4700;
Landscape 320x240 displays found in Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Pocket PC devices, including Dell Axim X50, HP iPAQ hx2110/2115, HP iPAQ hx2750/2755, HP iPAQ hx2410/2415, HP iPAQ rx3115/3715 and HP iPAQ h6315;
Support for built-in cameras found in many Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Pocket PCs and Smartphones, including the Audiovox SMT 5600, Motorola MPx220, i-mate SP3/SP3i, i-mate JAM, i-mate PDA2k, and i-mate Pocket PC;
Support for smartphones running on various carrier networks including the Verizon Samsung SCH-i600, Sprint Samsung SP-i600, and the Orange SPV e200 and SPV C500.
SplashID and SplashPhoto have been Symbian Signed for compatibility with the Sony Ericsson P800/P900/P910, and have been updated to support the latest Nokia Series 60 devices including the Nokia 6620 and 7610.
