SymbianWare Stacker for Nokia 9500 Communicator is available now! Print E-mail
Written by SymbianWare
Monday, 06 December 2004
SymbianWare's update of its range of Symbian OS application for the Series 80 continues with the release of Stacker an application which seamlessly compressed files on a Series 80 device.

Stacker is the best, fully automated and reliable runtime compression system for your device. Stacker software doubles the size of your entire drives and works invisible behind the scene. When you start an application it is decompressed in background automatically and it is compressed again when you close it.

Stacker is the best way to increase disks space on your device, it guarantees to give you as much disk space as possible without even thinking about it!

You may be aware that you can use compression to save your files in smaller forms, but you may not know how easy it can be! The program's interface is intuitive and easy to use. Stacker displays the list of installed apps. Just select an application you want to be compressed and press the "Archive" button. Total saved space is displayed in the caption (size field in brackets). In apps view it's an amount of space saved by compressing the apps, in favourites view it's amount of space saved by compressing custom files and folders you have defined. If you later need to decompress the application now just select it and press "Restore".

You can work with your device as usual and there are absolutely no changes to your system. All compressed applications are displayed in the system shell and can be launched from there (and from anywhere as well).

Preferred files or folders like 'My Pictures' can be defined as favourites and can be compressed and decompressed with one key press.

Stacker can be customized either for best speed or for background work, so you can work with your device almost without noticeable performance lost and without limitations while compressing/decompressing.

Stacker uses the industry standard LZ77 compression algorithm like all Zip programs do. Stacker uses minimal memory, and supports multiple requests by starting more than one program at the same time. Stacker recovers automatically after errors like out of disk space or power lost and finishes its work.

It's time to break the memory limitation of your Communicator now!

The trial version works for 15 days without any limitation. When the trial period is over you still can use the program to decompress your applications or files, but compress functions will be blocked until it is registered.

SymbianWare Stacker for Series 80 v1.01 is immediately available at the price of EUR 9.95 or US-$ 9.95
