 Anyone who thought that the second day of the Smartphone Show was going to be quiet by comparison to the first will have been thinking again. The announcement of three new Series 60 devices by Nokia certainly took everyone by surprise. We round up day 2 of the Smartphone Show.

 Nokia today has opted to use the smartphone show as the forum to introduce three
new models to its portfolio of business-optimized devices. The Nokia E60, Nokia
E61 and Nokia E70. Designed for business users, each device sports a unique look,
all have powerful capabilities. Look for these units to ship early in 2006. Read

CA. Navteq and sponsors kicked off the 2006 Global LBS Challenge. What makes this
year’s event special is the “doubling” of the challenge to include a North American
and European challenge. To entice developers, Navteq is putting up more than $800,000
in cash and prizes with the grand prize winner taking home $50k cash and $100k
in data licenses. SymbianOne's Glenn Letham was pleased to have been in attendance.

SysOpen Digia Plc has announced that Symbian Limited has selected SysOpen Digia's technology for enabling automated pre-testing of applications against the Symbian Signed Test Criteria. Under the agreement, SysOpen Digia will provide a testing solution using their Quality Kit product family which enables the Symbian developer community to verify that their application has reached industry-agreed quality requirements prior being submitted to be Symbian Signed with an independent test house.
